Have any of you read Countdown? Its a prequel to Star Trek XI, and explains all the events up to where the movie starts. The comic explains how Nero and Spock Prime ment and how all the events unfold. It gives a better explamation of Nero and so much more. I bought the comic right before the second time I saw the movie, and it helped out alot on what happened in the movie. So what do you think?

Yes. I've read it, so have others. I bought it because i found the movie hard to understand. It helped, but questions remain. Overall, i perferred the comic's portrayal of Nero, and its attempt to bridge Prime Trek with NuTrek, but i don't think the two universes or timelines are bridgable. If you consider things like the fact that Abram's Enterprise only has a top speed of warp 4, whereas the NX-01 Enterprise had a top speed of warp 5, even though it was built a century earlier, its very clear these are two distinct visions of the future that cann't be bridged.

I liked the Romulan screens on the Enterprise and vice versa
![]() The nod to A Final Unity was nice.

I was a good read and it was great for providing some more substantial background and connections to Spock and Nero that really could have been better realised in the film. That part was a shame but nevermind.
Oh and the Warp 4 thing? Is that still on the go?

It was great. I kind of want to see a comic version of the movie.
