Now I am compelled to remember a scene from South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut.

TERRENCE: You are such a pig-f***er, Phillip!

As funny as it is, I just can't stress how serious this is

I understand that you are worried about your dog, but I remain a bit sceptic in the presence of all the Nostradamuses who warned us about the horrible epidemic that did not come. Perhaps the ones who cry the loudest are the ones who make money with inoculations?
What did "Deep Throat" tell Woodward and Bernstein? Follow the money.

Being dog lover and having a small child makes me worry more now, than before. I don't care about predictions ect.

I so totally agree. I have long thought this situation to be a conspiracy between the media and the pharmaceutical companies that manufacture the vaccine and the treatment (TAMIFLU). Each year, over 40,000 people in America die from the seasonal flu. WORLDWIDE- how many have succumbed to H1N1? Under 1,000? You statistically have a greater chance of dying from drowning in your bathtub than you have of dying from "swine" flu. This past May, an assistant principal in Queens with multiple other medical problem died in an intensive care unit after being diagnosed with H1N1. I think I could sketch his face just from the number of times his photo was flashed on news broadcasts over a 2 week period. Now, had the man died with a seasonal flu infection (and I can guarantee you he would have), it would not even have come up in conversation.

I think this scare will go down in history along side with bird flu and SARS. Hell, more people in NYC die from tuberculosis each year than even contract H1N1, and the former disease is preventable and easier to contain, but how come no one talks about that? One possible reason- it is not profitable to manufacture anti-tuberculosis drugs.

(in the voice of one of those cantankerous drill sergeants that are sometimes parodied in army movies)

Diseases don't kill people! Guns don't kill people! Drugs don't kill people!
Death kills people!

That's right, ladies! Death kills more people than any other cause in history! It's proven fact! People die of death every day, and there ain't no sign of it slowin' down! Death killed me once! It wasn't pretty! But I came back to tell the tale, ladies! I am living proof that Death kills people!

Hell, the sum***** tried to recruit me once, but I said he was doin' such a damn good job that he didn't need my humble abilities! He liked me so much, he let me live!
