About Khan, he'd only work if they either changed a lot of parameters e.g. no sleeper ship or focused on the eugenics part IMO. But it's not like Trek has not already explored the theme in-depth: two Khan stories, another Augment story, Kodos, Colonel Green and with his "student" Paxdon we have even see the transition from eugenics to xenophobia, or in other terms the revelation that the underlying thinking is both times fascistic and racist. What more is there to tell? |

LOL! The last comment about the BB drifting forever in space tickled me. I respectfully agree (and creator of this thread, this is a good topic...Perhaps a little silly, since there's no option for disagreeing voices in the vote, but we understand--We all love Kahn. We're just sharing our opinion). At the max, there may be three or four movies made in this new universe (unless after Mr. Abrams completes his run someone else wants to take up the torch). Let's make the most of this by making the crew explore strange new worlds, new civilizations, and new possiblities.

Good point! Why was it in most of her voyages in TOS (and for that matter, TNG and DS9) that she always visited a planet that had a starbase. I can't say ALL of her voyages, because if memory serves, some planets were undiscovered. But most of them had some starbase. Maybe this will be a chance to do something new? |

As usual, I'd rather they adapt Space Seed into a film than ever try to remake Wrath of Khan. The latter is just impossible to do and still ever live up to the original.

I think Enterprise detects a distress call on a planet and has to assist Khan and his survivors fight acid-blooded alien xenomorphs through darkened tunnels...

Pretty straightforward, take the original script, cannibalize it, add 100 million dollar budgets FX and tata, we have ST12.
![]() Then they can remake TWOK and all their three movies will have used Khan in one way or the other, once RomuKhan and twice NuKhan. And the crowd will still believe all the mumbo-jumbo about freeing themselves from the shackles of continuity and telling fresh, new stories. Even if it ain't gonna happen, the very fact that they think about using Khan (again!) tells me more than I want to know. Last edited by horatio : 12-04-2009 at 06:22 AM. |
