While you're definition may be true, it doesn't sound much like the kind of location Riley would imply in his quote from the episode though. Of course, he was nuts and obnoxious when he said it, so hard to judge for sure! Besides, in a real bowling alley, you press a button and someone brings you cocktails. What better place for a party on the Enterprise!

I got told to go get some flight line once- I got warned about it in advance... and had me a nice stroll and a 3 hour lunch. Of course, if anyone higher rank asked what I was doing, I told them "looking for flight line!" Yup. I was a scheister. :-D

I was on an aircraft carrier, BTW- Pacific. Mebbe some different slang over there? Or did I manage to get a joker?

I was in the pacific as well, on a replenishment ship. If you were in, in the mid 80's, our ship probably unrep'd yours. And as far as the slang, who knows?

Just wanted to let you know Zardoz, it's Berengarius7 not Bengarius. I'm not being touchy or anything like that but the name has Trek history. Berengarius 7 was a planet vistited by Spock sometime in his early Starfleet career. He saw a dragon there and related that fact to a woman he fell in love with in the TOS episode "This Side Of Paradise". Just a clarification. I love Star Trek, and i love Dragons, hence my choice of monikers.
