One can throw stones at Berman for VOY and ENT (the shows he influenced stronger than TNG or DS9), one can light the pyre for NEM ... but then you also gotta praise him for FC, for all of TNG and for the creation of DS9 (assuming this corresponds to one's preferences).
That's all I am asking for, a view which considers all aspects. It's like with the third season of TOS, you can neither blame The Rodd for leaving the show nor can you just blame the absence of The Rodd for the overall poor quality.
