I loved that episode! I loved that ENT had some great "lighter" moments. It's a great in between episode.

I loved that episode. It was a good tip of the hat back to the more lighthearted episodes of TOS, a little reminder that Star Trek is supposed to be FUN sometimes!

Naturally all the grey-faced ultra-nerds who think that Star Trek is serious business were outraged that their holy-religion-on-tv dared to depart from 44 minutes of technobabble and repolarizing the harmonics of the inverse tachyon beam to save the day at the last minute, and made a fun episode entirely focused on character. Screw 'em. I'm sure they cry themselves to sleep with tears of impotent rage over how the new film was funny and as well.

And since I think ENT didn't get really good until the 3rd season...

I think it was even better than "Trouble with Tribbles" which was a bit of forced fun whereas "A Night in Sickbay" was based on a normal idea, that the captain is pretty isolated, hence his deep care for Porthos and that all people on the ship must be pretty horny, hence Archer's interest in T'Pol.
Humour based on something serious is usually superior to nonsensical humour.
