10-15 years, yeah. But likely like Kirk's 5-year mission, that also includes periodic returns to a Federation starbase for crew rotation, resupply, and any repairs that might be needed.

Some crewmembers may stay on for the entire deployment while others may only be there short-term, IMO.

I think Riker ended up knowing what he was doing for himself in deciding to stay on the Enterprise, but in terms of outsiders looking at this former fast-tracker it could look like he was disadvantaging himself in the process.

But at the end he ran his career the way he wanted too.
