Default Keenser!

I don't think there's actually been a thread on this little guy, but if there has been, just ignore this one.

So what did you like or dislike about him? I felt he was definitely the Jar Jar Binks of this film, but seeing as I am one of the few people on the face of this planet to actually LIKE the character of Jar Jar Binks in the prequels, (you may throw stones at me now ) Keenser didn't bother me in the slightest. He did seem a bit out of place, but Scotty needed to have SOMEONE to talk to on Delta Vega, didn't he? My only complaint is that he ended up in uniform. Unless it's the same type of rankless uniform that Khan wore in "Space Seed", wouldn't Keenser have to have been a Starfleet officer to wear a uniform? Unless he actually WAS supposed to be a Starfleet officer, just like Scotty. Oh well. In any case, what did you think of him?

I always assumed he was an officer or crewman. Takes all sorts to make a Starfleet.

I had no problem with Keenser.

Yeah, he was the token 'cute' alien character. But he wasn't overexposed, he wasn't obnoxious, he wasn't even a main player in the plot. He wasn't nearly as bad as characters like Donkey from Shrek, or JarJar Binks, or whatever.

He reminded me completely of my West Highland Terrier, Annie. She's always getting up on the furniture too. And there was a couple of wee comedy moments with him.

I didn't mind him(and he was a Starfleet Officer...Scotty said so). Gene would have included more Aliens in TOS, if he could have afforded it...but was restricted by a TV budget.
