I liked the hailing frequency whistle, too. Oh! And the computer sounds...I wanted "jet-like" engine sounds for the shuttlecraft, but dagburn it! That J.J. kept the electro-burbling sounds of the TOS shuttlecraft, too. So, even though some things changed, so much remained the same--especially the background sounds that created the Trek experience.

Smile

The entire movie made me smile. I like every second of the movie.

But the one aspect that really made me smile was about 30 minutes into the movie I found myself smiling ear to ear. I suddenly started feeling this swell of glee and I realized "Oh my God, it's working! This movie is fantastic - IT'S STAR TREK! It's really Star Trek!"

Seeing the poster outside the theater was the first thing.

I loved the movie, but to mention a couple of fun moments that haven't been mentioned yet:
-the scene when Spock is recognized by the Jellyfish computer and Kirk's response

-Spock and Uhura. Every scene with them made me grin!
