Not had a moment like that as such, but in terms of perfect moments one I would share was one night many years ago in winter.

Where I live we don't automatically get heavy snowfall over the winter. Anyway, this year it was dark (obviously) but there had been a heavy snowfall and I was walking to get the train to go into the city.

To get there I have to walk through a park bordered by houses on one side and a hill rising up on the other. This night, there was also a mist or fog (never sure what the difference is but....) down.

So for a few minutes I was walking through the park with everything in whiteout, with nothing clearly visible due to the mist. There was no-one else in sight or sound, no cars, and all I could hear was the crunch of my boots in the snow and fuzzy light from streetlamps.

For that few minutes it took to walk through, I could have been the only person in the entire world and it was like some magical silence.

In fact I walked so slowly I almost missed the train because I feared the mist would be gone by the time I returned home and I wanted to savour the sight that much.

My perfect moment was in the summer of '87 (or was in '88?). I was a kid at the time. Spent much of the day shopping with my mom and grandma (both of whom are gone now) at our favorite shopping mall (also gone now). I bought some stuff that I really liked--including my first album from a band that I would immediately become my favorite of all time. We ended the day going by a nearby pizza place (yes, gone too) that had the best pizza that I ever had in my life. We ate there and then went home with another pie to enjoy again later that night.

What I'll always remember is going home that one afternoon--there wasn't a cloud in the sky, the sun was a golden amber as it descended slowly towards the horizon, and the air was cool and alive with energy as it brushed my face in the open backseat car window. I remember thinking right then and there with all my goodies beside me that "Life is good..."
