Yeah...why not...I mean, face it, she portrayed a character recognized around the world. People in countries that hate America know who played Christine Chapel...why wouldn't her home town honor her? Heck, for some, it would be a reason to change the trip itinery..."hey, we can go here and be in Nurse Chapel's home town!"....

Saquist and Oregon, I'm not seeking anything extravagant. Just simple recognition. It might only result in a city council resolution in her honor. A framed certificate that would be mailed to her. I think Columbus would be open to that.

I suppose so. It certainly couldn't hurt.
Maybe it's a bit of envy...maybe I want most of the honor to be Gene's...I feel like he's mostly unappreciated...that "Great Bird of the Galaxy"

Does anyone know if Gene Roddenberry's hometown has honored him? I'm guessing it did...I'm also guessing that he got a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame...so, I'm not bleeding over his exclusion in a minor celebration of the woman who devoted her life to him.

Taking advantage of the wonders of Google...I found Gene Roddenberry was born in El Paso Texas...which is now home of the Gene Roddenberry Planetarium He was, by the way, the first television writer named to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

WOW...now that i didn't know..I don't doubt it either. I think his work was understated and underated. I don't agree with his morals but i love his work...he had imagination.

It was a real shame Genesis II did not get off the ground or The Questor Tapes (Questor of course got revamped as Data many years later.)
