Default Star Trek: New Frontier

Now I haven't exactly been reading Star Trek for a while merely sampling here and there but based on this limited experience I'd say whilst the Destiny books are more ambitious this series of books are by far the most enjoyable books in the series. In truth I expected a thread to already exist and contribute to it but alas that is not the case. So say why you love it, loathe it, this, that and that other thing

For those out of the loop NF is basically about several characters only loosely connected to TNG and most of the action is based around the crew of the Excalibur captained by one Mackenzie Calhoun. There's more I could say but I've never been good at reining in my spoilerish tendencies so I'll leave it at that

I really loved the New Frontier series, but at the moment I'm reading Missing in Action, and I'm finding it a real slog to read. Usually I can't put a Peter David/New Frontier down, but this one I've read half way though twice now because I put it down for about 6 months.

I think it's because its very episodic, as soon as I get interested in one thread, another starts.

Still I'd recommend the New Frontier series to anyone. The cool thing about Peter David is he gets the characters so right, and because of that he can throw in neat surprises that make you fall out of you chair.
