I just caught the trailer. And from the looks of it, it is an astronaut drama similar to Moore's Virtuality. They've ordered half a season worth of episodes. It is being produced by Grey's Anatomy executive producer, James Parriott.

Only to be picked up by syfy, and then cancelled again after a full season... then there'll be a movie, and the fan base will head off into the darkness, grumbling about what idiots the network heads are for choseing a "transvestite dating reality show" over some good sci fi.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Well, i'm expecting it to be real drama like, like Grey's, heavy on the soap opera elements. I'd be surprised if it turns out to be a show that has sci-fi storylines.

Most will depend on the actors. If they really click with the audience it might be given the chance to adapt to what works with them and be a lasting show. For me, on the face of it the show isnt that interesting. However the plot could be relatively simple but with lots of twists, turns and revelations as it goes along. If its the same 'strange new worlds' type of show I dont think it will work. Its not what the audience wants these days.... SciFi channel excepted.

As a show in its own right the idea behind Jericho was quite good but the execution wasnt that great and it needed actors that were more charasmatic as the main 1-2 leads. Also, IMHO the stories and production values on Dr. Who are pretty good but its the actors that make the show much better than it otherwise would be.
