I've seen two episodes so far, actually -- and the second one I saw was definitely better than the first.

1)Merlin was never Arthur's contemporary. He was much older and wiser than th...............e.............n he so their exploits could have been woven into the tapestry until we come to the time in the story that everyone knows.

It's OK if you can overlook the past you already know and accept. But I guess that's what all the big writer's, directors and producers are doing today.
the story they wanted to tell was of a young Merlin and a young Arthur. so

how can the series be wrong when the legend was never "right" to be begin with?? every version of the legend has cherry picked and reimagined the elements the writer wanted. Just like Robin Hood, Zorro, William Tell and hundreds of others.

the show is well written, good production values, likeable characters and actors and a decent Irish bird - I ask no more

1)Merlin was never Arthur's contemporary. He was much older and wiser than the young king.
2) Uther Pendragon never founded Camelot.
3) Guinevere was the daughter of another king, not the lady in waiting to Morgana.
Uther was also a rapist and Merlin helped him, but that's hardly suitable for a family fantasy adventure series.
