I've found a considerable bargain; refer to the link below.

I bought a 40" Samsung HD LCD TV about 8 months ago and I still marvel at the picture quality when watching HD programming on Directv. My son's XBOX 360 games look equally impressive at 1080p.

You will like it and brand aside get the biggest you can afford. Typically people afterwards say they would have liked a bigger one. As for burn in, LCD's can suffer from something like it but they arent permanent... usually. Mine still has one after a very bright 1/2" green line was on it for an hour (I didnt know and shut it off after I saw it), but its not that noticeable except when that area is a solid blue like the sky. The area is darker. Also, if for example you watch a 4x3 with the black bars for a time then go to full screen you will see where the black was under certain circumstances. But it eventually goes away also. In my case I dont know why mine wont go away.

I'm currently saving for this TV.
Is an 8 ms response time too slow? The static contrast is 3,000 (10,000 Dynamic) and the brightness is what you expect to see on most LCDs (500).
