Okay...no one tell my daughter! I saw this in the LA Times this morning, mentioned it to my husband and he said "don't tell her!"...she would probably insist we go. Of course...then I would have to go....

Okay...I take it back. Tell my daughter.

Yeah - what's it like to live in a place where real theater is less than a 3 hour drive away? (Alright, alright, I know we've got Shakespeare & Co., and CapRep, but that's all we've got!)

Yup. I intend to see the show. The Geffen Playhouse is in a neighborhood, Westwood, I know very well. (Interestingly, it was recently the scene of much weirdness what with the Michael Jackson thing at the UCLA hospital.)

Here's another glowing review of Pine's performance in particular:

As Stephen, the charming, weaselly and ultimately self-destructive young press secretary for a populist Democratic presidential candidate, Pine is so good you almost wish his "Star Trek" success (as James T. Kirk he even outperformed the movie's special effects) had never happened so he could spend more time on the stage.

Good for him.

I know that Pine is taking a more commercial vehicle in the fall when he starts filming "Unstoppable" with Denzel Washington, but I'm curious to see what his move will be after that film - another big film or a smaller role? I think the Star Trek sequel starts filming later next year.
