Or they could go sub style.
Small enclosure with hug machinery...Either would do quiet well but I think either way they need to play up the machinery not just work stations.

I'm easy to please. I just want them to show one giant wrench in the background! I don't care what else they do, but that wrench would be a fun Easter Egg for the fans.

Default TOS/TMP Retro

I'd like to see the basic layout of the TOS bridge, with the large (di)lithium crystal pods in the centre of the floor, but I think the floor itself should be transparent to reveal the warp core beneath.

That would be very, very sweet.

plus you could see down to the bottom deck and make sure the engineers were not slacking off.

I agree. I want to see some kind of reaction chamber but still sticking with TOS engine room. OOO What is there is a random painting of a wrench in the engine room? LOL
I think whatever they do is going to be awesome.
