what I am curious about is there an "in-universe" explanation as to why Sisko is not commanding the Defiant?
surely he wouldn't pass up a chance to fight the Borg?
was Worf already near Earth on another mission at the time?
He was running a Space Station on the front line with a major Galactic conflict brewing that could flare up at any moment.

He had no need to command the Defiant in the circumstance of the film - Worf was more than capable of commanding a ship that just had get into a fight.
