I think in Kingdom of Heaven he played a decent Arab, too.
Well probably the Arabs actually were more decent and advanced than the Western societies at that time.

No not kidding, he was in that film, Layer Cake kicking James Bond (Daniel Craig)'s a$$ in the bathroom!
Making him cry like a little boy.

He was also in Intermission kicking Colin Farrell's a$$ in another bathroom.

I don't know why he likes beating guys up in bathrooms, maybe he should see a psychiatrist.

(I think Colm is getting typecast now as a kind of Irish thug. He's kind of good at it, but he's getting a little old to be a convincing thug anymore, IMO.)

Of Gods and Men is a good little feature starring many former ST actors/characters.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0835378/fullcredits#cast

I suggest you watch it and see how many characters you recognize.

He does do that well, must be said!

he has been in a lot more than that as many different types of characters.
he is working more than any other TREK actor I'll wager, and not in a "deNiro" way (ie, Meaney will not take any role going)

he really deserved that golden globe but the BBC made a bad judgement there, he is not bitter though

Looking at his IMDB resume, he has really been in lots of stuff.

He's played leads, too - anyone seen How Harry Became A Tree?

yes it's brilliant.

I was always jealous that Cillian Murphy nobbed Kerry Condon

...And didn't get killed that time either.

As far as upcoming movies, I think he's set to be in a remake of Clash of the Titans -- and since he's being Hermes (ie, immortal) there's a pretty good chance he won't die in this movie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Colm Meany was really good in "The Englishman who Went Up a Hill and Came Down a Mountain." ...and not being a thug in that.
Trying to think who else I've seen in other stuff but all I can think of was Nana Visitor being a baddie in "dark angel". But both of those were quite a while ago.
