Indeed. It's worrying that they can be so brazen with their attempted identity fraud - we're all used to hoax emails trying to scam us out of our personal information, but to have publicly-viewable ads doing that job is another step even lower.

Yes! Never ever give em' anything!!! If tehy are a reputable site, they won't need to try and use pop ups to get your buisness.

I usually find that if they aren't a scam, they want to bill me for something...amazing how quick they run when you give them a prepaid cell number...they say, sorry, you have to have a monthly billing plan to be elegible for this offer...hehehe

and Dad and my boyfriend wonder why I want to keep the prepaid, when I have a phone on Jerry's plan...???

I'm pretty unhappy with site owners who will accept advertising of this kind; I don't think it reflects well on them.

I have found Noscript and Adblock to be effective (in Firefox) in blocking this sort of stuff.
