It's the best!!
I'm sure like everyone, we all have a few groups, bands, artists etc that we are really fans of and that we hope we can see live. Amongst mine, I have been longing to see four in particular - The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and The Counting Crows. By some fortuitous turn, in 2009 I'm going to have seen all of them live in my hometown!! And these are not groups that come around every weekend to where I live. I still have to pinch myself that I'm actually seeing them, not only at all, but in the SAME YEAR!!! (I'm gonna see Stevie Nicks from the the centre of the second row!!!) Anyway, got me thinking - what's the best live music event you've ever been to. A big festival, an intimate gig or inbetween? Are you a fan of live music or not? So far, my favourite of them all has been a small one by Willy Vlautin of the band Richmond Fontaine. A very, very small gig in a terrific cavern style venue called The Arches. Only about 100+ people and a truly magical night where we were all kept rapt by this man and his stories.
