A link to this was posted a few days ago. I think it makes the comparision pretty well. Could the "STAR WARS" undercurrent be the reason the film is so popular i wonder?

Episode III is my favorite Star Wars movie. I LOVE lightsaber fights and this movie packs in TWO great duals!! Obi-Wan -vs- Anikan AND Yoda -vs- Darth Sideous (aka: Emperor)

I think the similarities pointed out in this video are just basic sc-fi and fantasy elements. I think the guy that made the video is making a mountain out of a mole hill, and I was disappointed by this movie so I am NOT defending it out of blindness.

So now we know what happens in the sequels - Kirk finds out that Uhura is his sister and Nero is their father who's survived and turned to the dark side.
![]() Really, you could make a similar video to prove that Star Wars or any other SF/fantasy/action film has ripped a dozen others. Or that they have all ripped off literature, fairytales, epic poetry and myths (which, for the most part, ripped off older myths). And so on... |

It's sad, but i'm seriously considering going down to my videostore to rent "the Empire Strikes Back," to find out what will be in the next J.J. Trek film. |
