Rule 34, I'd expect.
Or should that be "general order 34" in a Trek context?

I know we'll never get an explanation as to why the Narada looks the way it does.
I know that the comics mention Borg technology. But all I want to know is how a Romunlan ship looks like a spiky squid compared to the bird inspired vessels for over 300 years? |

Compare a civilian airliner with a military transport helicopter. They're both "human aircraft" but look totally different. Different forms for different functions - just like the Cardassians having warships that look like their insignia, but cargo ships that look like a row of crates with a cockpit and engine.

The comics show how the Narada looked before, and I assure you, it looked very Romulan.
The Borg stuff isn't just tech, it also made it 100 times bigger and gave it all the spikes.

So in the context of the movie it wasnt important at all since its mostly background information. Knowing how it was built will not move its story forward. But for those that want to know the info is there. Win-win.

"Engineering to Captain Jerk! Engineering to Captain Jerk!"
"Jerk here, what is it Snotty?" From one of those old Trek song parodies that sometimes sticks in my head. ![]() |
