They didn't add the scene because it would have felt "contrived"!! Did they forget the rest of the movie?

They probably didn't do it because it would have looked too obviously Star Wars-ish, you know the handheld hologram thingy.

I will add that I would have liked to see this scene in the movie, cameo or not. I think even with similarities to Star Wars it could have been pulled off nicely. As long as the hologram itself didn't look like the monochromatic, grainy, TV screen looking holograms from SW, then it would have been fine. Remember the miniature hologram of Tasha Data had?
