I know I started a thread a while back about "nods" to previous Treks, not "easter eggs". I was just watching TOS episode "The Corbomite Maneuver" and that Balok jerk alien told the crew they had 10 minutes to live. Kirk gets on the ships PA and tells everyone that part of the reason they are out there is "Fear. Fear of the unkown", as part of his rally speech.
I just think it's cool Spock tells Kirk a similar line in the new movie.

"Perhaps the true reason we so fear the unknown, be that we know ourselves too well." -- The Narrator, The Outer Limits (Afterlife)
