Given that the New E wasn't commissioned until 25 years after the loss of the Kelvin, it would seem unlikely that Starfleet hadn't commissioned new ships in the interim.

In 2233, the Constitution class would have been in the concept and design stage and while SF would have had the telemetry and data from the Kelvin, it would not have been analyzed and interpreted fully for years to come.

SF would have to recognize the need for intermediate improvements in the fleet which they had on the drawing board.

So, it's possible that the Enterprise we knew is out there, but under a different registration name.

I like to think so anyway.

Has the new Enterprise ever been referred to on-screen as "Constitution Class"? I've seen the movie twice and don't recall hearing it.

It's just an assumption since so many of TOS's things have transitioned over namewise.

given the events of nero attacking the kelvin changed everything. the readings that the kelvin took before she was destoryed made starfleet build a bigger,powerful Consitution Class Starship. so instead of launching the Enterprise in 2245 she was launched in 2254 (sometime around there). from what i understand the Enterprise in the new movie was the FIRST Consitution Class vessel built by the federation. so to answer your question sir, no there wasn't another Enterprise out there.
