Maybe this whole movie is really taking place on the holodeck of the Enterprise E....
the purists would love that.

I'd rather Star Trek's Alpha time line not have ANY holodeck tech at any point, to spare me the cheesy uses.
I want more militaristic Trek with less families and fun time focus. The holodeck is kind of a cop out. Would Kirk be banging an alien on every planet if he could just get some holodeck action? lol.

NO HOLODECKS at least not in the same form as TNG. It was merely a device for lazy writing & contrived situations. As a form of entertainment they could perhaps have a different version, but not the all powerful one from earlier shows. No thanks.

No holodecks, please. It was a cop-out on TNG. I never liked them as a story device, along with "level-2 diagnostic test" and another "sub-space anomaly."
As often as those things failed and endangered the people within, you'd think some future lawyers would have had a field day and had those things banned by class-action lawsuits long ago.

What if the holograms looked like 90s PC game graphics, but in real 3D? You can see the polygons and texels... Perhaps the quality of Half-Life
