That's not far wrong in an assessment.
Despite what many want to believe. Then again, children stories have traditionally been pretty well received. Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Goosebumps, pretty much any traditional Disney flick (and now Pixar) the list goes on and on and on.

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (15 December AD 37 – 9 June AD 68),[1] born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, also called Nero Claudius Caesar Drusus Germanicus, was the fifth and final Roman emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. Romans got DMC4 beat by about 2000 years. At least with ST Nero makes sense for the Romulans since they and Vulcan have a bit of a Roman motiff. |

I dont understand this lack of interest in Europe for Star Trek. As a Brit im chuffed that we (Britain) delivered a good healthy chunk financially into the pot.

In Europe the UK and Germany usually are "Star Trek countries".
Elsewhere (like France) it's quite different. Why? Noone knows. Maybe just luck, if TOS was a success in the ~ 70s it cleared the way for all the other ST productions, if it wasn't noone cared for any ST sequels in following times, too.

that's pretty much the opinion people have of TNG (rightfully so to be honest) which is what people first think of when you say STAR TREK these days
