I was thinking that they're fully charged or at maximum operation/capacity/whatever. They're working at 100% efficiency. |

In the metaphorical sense, yeah, it sounded like Spock was saying: "Hail, hail, the gang's all here....let's go explorin' !"
![]() In the familial sense, he was probably speaking of Kirk's penchant for leaving spacedock at speeds that exceeded spacedock regulations. ![]() And in the knowledgeable sense: "All is as it should be. All is well." (save for Vulcan being gone)

If Spock was a homeboy - or Sean Connery - he would've said, "you're the man now dog."
That's what he was getting at.

So, Scotty's words could be taken as meaning the electromagnetic containment field of the dilithium chambers are stable, running and tested for maximum capacity - dilithium chambers on full. But anyway, I must agree with FanWriter, it sounded verry odd. Take a core fusion reactor as reference. It also needs electro magnetic fields to operate and to keep the hot plasma away from the reactors housing. Otherwise the plasma cools down rapidly and the reaction stops. ![]() Last edited by Botany Bay : 05-26-2009 at 06:18 AM. |

The main time thrusters were mentioned in Trek was in The Voyage Home When Spock needed Thruster Control to make sure they ended up in the right time on both trips to the past and pardon the pun back to the furure Spock in essence controled the Time As he can also now control the timeline by using what he knows of the future "Thrusters on full" anything can happen Now |

I really think he was just reminiscing, and also anticipating, how much the new ( to him ) Kirk would be like the old one. the actual words are an inside joke, but now, only he remembers the punchline....Kirk always had a bad habit of leaving dock way too fast.

I would've loved it if Kirk had been asked for a course heading and replied as he did at the end of TMP 'Out there. That away.'
Oh and if Pine had done the narration as well, but maybe next time!

yeah I just took it as Spock reminiscing about his time with Prime Kirk and his sense of anticipation for this new crew. I liked it, I found most of Prime Spock's scenes very moving in this film.

I agree. It is an old man watching young ones leave the nest.

I agree it was very moving and it was a very good line maybe he was thinking about his past when I still watch Spock Prime say that oh I'm bringing up old threads that is 7 months old
