Yeah it is a 'reinvention' but it was billed as that from the start, so...
'If the Apocalypse starts, beep me!' - Buffy Summers
'The sky's the limit.....' Jean-Luc Picard, 'All Good Things'

What, you mean like the way no-one complained about the new Star Trek because it had no effect on the original?
Holmes as an action hero? That's a new one!
Actually, the canonical Holmes is fairly proficient in unarmed combat, albeit a slightly unusual and forgotten style: behold

Holmes was a boxer at school, I believe.

This movie looks good. Why would I bash it?

Good luck to anyone who wants to see this. In my view it has all the hallmarks of a first class stinker a la League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I suppose we can wait and see, it doesn't bother me as Sherlock Holmes was done beautifully and very faithfully by Granada Television in the UK (Holmes was played by Jeremy Brett). As an Englishman, I find it incredibly corny which is odd because it was directed by an Englishman. Oh well.

Looks like a fun actioner to me. It has made it's way to my list of movies to see.
