Starblazers. I think they could do a live action version nowadays.
The Six Million Dollar Man, but not a Jim Carrey reboot. Space 1999 Black Sheep Squadron Logan's Run The Man from Atlantis ..are what I'd like to see rebooted. |

I don't remember Val Kilmer's show but there have been a few good western movies lately. Last years "3:10 to Yuma" with Bale and Crowe was excellent. That's a type of reboot.

Actually, that was a straightforward re-make of the 1957 movie.

Jason of Star Command-- Saturday morning live action kids' sci-fi series that was the most expensive childrens' show production at the time. Special effects personnel from Star Wars were brought in to do the model and optical FX, and put them to good use.
I started doing a fanfic reboot of Jason of Star Command that would've been a more adult themed (more in tone with Star Trek's new movie..for comparison) story, but it would not have been overly dark. Dragos would certainly have been much more intense (and I have to say, Sid Haig's portrayal of Dragos was very intense for Saturday morning kids' fare), and Jason's background would've been very interesting as he was a soldier of fortune in the orignal series. There would've also been some background on how Dragos came to power....an element that was touched upon only in exposition in the original show...that he was once the prime minister of Klaavu, but became corrupted and drunk with power. This would've dealt with some exploration that eventually led to Star Command stumbling upon Dragos' machinations, and ultimately, war with Dragos' forces.

Took 'em right out of mine, too... I loved that show!!
I didn't like the new Knight Rider, though, so I'd take a stab at that one, too.

I loved Airwolf. It could be a good "war on terror" movie.
And the thing is, it could still be the original Airwolf, rising from being decommisioned by The Firm after the end of the Cold War, The Lady is once more called into service when bolder, more cunning attacks on U.S. and allied soil are made by militant Islamic terrorists. Stringfellow Hawke is no longer capable of flying the gunship in combat missions, and his mentor and best friend, Dominic Santini has long since passed away. However, he can train a new pilot...perhaps a female soldier...to take The Lady into battle. Appropriate upgrades are made to Airwolf.

SeaQuest would be cool but my mind goes more to it's inspiration - Voyage To the Bottom of the Sea. A generational thing I guess.
I'd also like to see Allen's other classic, The Time Tunnel. A big screen Dark Shadows. Even though they effed up Bewitched: I Dream of Jeannie I want a remake of The Shape of Things to Come And I'm shocked there've been no more Twilight Zone movies. That's going to happen though. Betcha. And yeah, great ideas about reboots of western shows, any of those mentioned or Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, and another stab at the Lone Ranger. And a comedy western reboot of F Troop. Actually as I think about it, with the great emsemble comedies we've been getting of late that could rock hard! The title alone is worth several jokes.

martok,
You know, you bring up a good point: we could sure use more kid's shows that aren't just "whacky cartoons" like "Spongebob." (Nothing wrong with SBSP, he's the funniest thing on TV) But I'd love to see some adventure shows on tv that aren't just kid versions of the adult reality shows. CN is running "kid survivor" and "kid survivorman" and for a while, they were doing "kid junkyard wars" We need to get some quality live action programming back on the air. Not just Disney's hymns to consumerisim and teen idolotry. Where are the heroes? Where's the adventure? Where's the history? These days, unless it can sell a crap toy, I guess it's not getting on the air.
