Question The Kelvin

I saw the new star trek for the second time and upon checking my technical
manual but I think i know just what class ship the Kelvin was and there are
only one of two class ship's that could be either a Scout class or Destroyer
what do you guys think

I have a 24" x 36" poster titled " Federation Starship Recognition Chart " that is probably from around the time of Star Trek III ( because it has Excelsior on it ).

This poster has a 2D silhouette of a ship that has a deflector nacelle on top and warp nacelle on bottom. Since it is 2D I can't tell whether it has ONE or TWO warp nacelles, but I will assume it has one. The caption for the ship is... Pytheas Class -- MKIII/01 Light Cruiser.

While this link looks similar to the ship on my poster, there are some differences. The warp nacelle is a bit further back on my poster and the one in the link is closer to the saucer, so the link DOES have TWO warp nacelles.

This one is close...

It's clear, the U.S.S. Kelvin was high class. I never heard any distinction given in extraneous materials, but maybe I just glossed over it.
