Default Earthquake in California

An earthquake has hit California near the west side of Los Angeles. It's been described as the biggest jolt felt in several years. Preliminary readings: 5.0 on the Richter scale.

One listener said that it felt like the house was jumping up and down.

Revised down to 4.7. Felt all over Southern California.

Edit: Now they're saying it's 5.0 again.

I felt the strong '89 Earthquake in CA.
It was hard to stand up without holding onto a doorway frame.
I could not believe how strong it was.

Meanwhile, go get your Star Trek badge from Frosted Flakes as I did

Bummer on the earthquake, you leftcoast folks. To think I was annoyed that we might have a frost warning tomorrow... that kind of pales in comparison!

I was wrong - we had an earthquake too!

The U.S. Geological Survey and people in Albany County report an earthquake at 8:53:29 p.m. tonight. The epicenter was South Berne, according to USGS. USGS syas it was a 2.8 magnitude earthquake with a depth of 6.8 miles.
One person from Clarksville tells CBS 6 News it was "very exciting, people were out in the street to see what had happened...It woke people up out of bed...Truly crazy and amazing."

Can you really be afraid of living where Earthquakes are a common thing?
That is like living in a flood plane and then complaining when it floods.
