The worm made me think of the ceti eel as well, but moreso than the conspiracy worm cuz pike didn't demand a bowl of mealworms (that we know of).

When young Kirk steals the antique car and passes a friend hitchhiking (another clever Abrams reference) he yells "Hey Johnny!". Anyone know who he might be referencing there? Was finnigan's name John or was that supposed to be John Archer? I mean, i caught the Nurse Chapel and even saw the Tribble, but i can't figure who Johnny might be.
