Cool Famous ship name was in new movie. *Spoiler*

one of the famous ship name that i came up to while reading the novel. she was part of the 7 ships destoryed by nero.

the novel also described defiant as constitution class.

The Farragut was also mentioned in the movie. That was the ship that Uhura was assigned to until she "persuaded" Spock to reassign her to the Abramsprise.

You remember the Farragut? The ship that the real James Kirk served upon while he was actually moving up through the ranks before he earned his appointment to captain of the Enterprise? Yeah, that one.

It was a cool nod, which would have been even better if Pike contacted Garrovick of the Farragut instead of the Truman
