I'll agree with the Romulan look. I can see it. Maybe part of that scene is Spock in disguise as a Romulan??

Maybe thats how they stop Nero or woteva and yeh it does definately look Romulan (TOS Romulan as well)

A Romulan disguise is interesting speculation, but my first thought was they were probably shooting a scene in Vulcan. That outfit seemed to look very Vulcan-like to me.

Those look like the same photos that have been circulating for a while. I still think Quinto was an excellent choice to portray Spock. At least visually. I’m not all that familiar with his work. However, he seems enthusiastic about the role.
