I'm already starting to hear bad news about Angels and Demons, but I expect it to push Star Trek off the top spot, even if it does earn less than DaVinci Code.

A few weeks ago, Angels and Demons was expected to make about $100 million on its opening weekend.

But, now that number is down to $50 million, and I think that is still too high of a number.

Star Trek made just under $80 million this past weekend in the U.S. alone, so even of it drops 50%, it will still give Angels and Demons strong competition.

And Wolverine dropped from $80+million from its first week to only $27 million in week two. So, I think that movie is dead and gone.

Ironically, Angels and Demons has always been what I thought was the better of the two Langdon novels, but, it has a less contentious plot.

I think it will do $50+ comfortably.

Yes it seems it will be DOA two weeks from now.
They'll have to push it into the last and smallest theatres just to keep in in the cinema at the end of the month... It should stick around with one auditorium at the most.

They are media blitzing the film like mad.

I know everybody already hates Angels and Demons, but it's going to be in cinemas probably about the same length of time as every other major Blockbuster.

It's going to do just fine on it's own, without hitting Trek.
