How about a new species that syphons off the life force of other species and they can do it on a planet wide scale "Not Earth" its been done to death
Oh wait that that may be to close the Stargate Atlantis
Maybe some aliens that are like current terroist cells attacking individual planets and are hidden and have to tracked down to get to the central leaders
that would give the op for many battles and Would love to see how Kirk would handle the situation

Or Just let Simon Pegg Loose on the universe where everyone would rather slit their wrists instead of having to listen to him

How about instead of a villain who had a bigger badder ship, using technology band by the federation, or just a big winy cry baby...we had one that actually challenges Kirks mind and wit? It doesn't necessarily have to be a vengeance thing against Kirk..and I'd prefer it not...but, we need a villain that we could actually get into and have us saying and feeling toward the end..."GET THAT SOB!!!!!!!!!!"

Hmmm, how long after the events of the XI should XII take place? I don't want it to be too long. Maybe like 6 months. Can we make that book The Rings of Tautee (I think that's what it's called) into a movie? Awesome book and it would make a great movie. Or something similar to it. Lots of drama and tragedy and action. The only problem is that there are even Klingons in that book too!

Thats what I have been thinking, its about time for an opponant without a vastly superior ship, like Enterprise vs. Reliant. Not suggesting that matchup, just an example that its been done before and does in fact work.
