PADD was real..he was solid...he is part of the computer...instant adjustment of the feild to allow him and PADD through.

He manipulated the particle density to make his hand "solid" when it needed to pick up a Padd, but when he needed a Padd to sail through him, he decreased the particle density where it was going to hit so it passed through.

Both of those make sense...

Or, the DR could have the ability to create what ever device he needed.

@ NCC I realized we were talking about to different things (I think)
the vidians stole Neelix' lings but Paris (tried) to hit the doctor. sorry if I did not make that clear, I can be confusing at some times

I agree with everyone as well. It makes more sense for there to be different ways for them to do things. I mean theres not one way to drink something. I know it's a very odd thing to say but it makes the point.
