I don't know about you guys, but I love seeing stories like this. I think, if you've been in fandom as long as I have, you've been conned more than a few times by fraudulent "con promoters" (I can think of one horror convention that was held in Winter Park, Colorado, as an example. The slimy promoter kept telling people that Stephen King was going to be a guest, then turned around and blamed a group I was part of [who were working as his con as staff] for the fact these fraudulent claims were made. We had wanted to sue, but found that the legal costs for doing so would have been impossible.)
