Just because you may or may not find it "amazing" doesn't mean that someone else won't---and THAT doesn't make them a sycophant or a suck-up.
Yep, we all use different words to describe something we really like, some may find it amazing and some may not.

Eye of the beholder indeed.

You got me thinking... I don't know if our local Drive In will be showing this right away or not.. but when it does, this would be one heck of a Drive In movie.... your talking about tailgating made me think of it... heck a drive in is essentially one giant tailgate party Might have to do this next weekend...

Star Trek has a reputation as being just for nerds and geeks but that is not true! I plan on going to see the movie tomorrow night at the first showing with my beautiful 26 year old daughter who has never been a ST fan but is pumped to see this movie.

She came home from work yesterday and told me a funny thing happened. She works with a beautiful young college girl and when that girl heard my daughter say she was going to see Star Trek Thursday night the girl quickly spoke up and said that she thought it premeired Friday night When My daughter told her they had moved it up the girl went on and on about how upset she was that she had to work Thursday night and would not get to see it the first night.

All of this conversation was overheard by their boss and when they were done he was just standing there shaking his head and said something like "This is just not right......two hot girls talking about liking Star Trek!!!!".

I thought that was funny and hopefully a sign that this new film will broaden Star Trek's appeal and bring out a whole new generation of fans while maintaining the core things that have made Star Trek so great.

Funny, I promised a good friend that I'd see it with him near where he lives (while our wives do something else (anything else)) and he suggested a drive-in. I've never been to one before. I hope we're not obliged to make-out during the film. Not that there's anything wrong with that...Y'all know what I mean...
