I'm really shocked by Shatner's attitude. Whereas Nimoy is being very Spock like in his handing over his character to Quinto, I think Shatner isn't acting like Kirk at all. Maybe he's acting like Kirk when he was possessed by that crazy, hysterical woman... what was that episode's name "Turnabout Intruder" or something... but certainly not behaving like the Captain Kirk we love and respect. It's sad. He has everything yet cannot show an ounce of generosity.

Maybe he's not acting like Kirk because he's not Kirk. Maybe he had a prior commitment. Maybe he's playing up the sore loser thing because he has a better sense of humor than some other people. Maybe people try to make way too much out of nothing.

Just kidding. Yes he might have had other commitments. Happens all the time. I doubt he could get away with it but perhaps he could go incognito to the first showing on opening day. Oh and then afterwards of course let it out that he went to go see it in disguise.

Maybe he's upset they didn't use his story from his last book.....Collision Course.

He needs to stand up an acknowledge that Trek is Bigger than him, Don't get me wrong, I admire him a Great Deal (he worked with Heather Locklear while she was wearing T-shirts on T.J. Hooker)

James, DeForrest, Gene, Majel.... Trek is still here, when Bill is gone Trek will still be here. He needs to stand up and pass the torch.... He needs to embrace these young actors and make them feel welcome, He needs to be to Pine as Nimoy is to Quinto!!!!
