$13+ Admission to IMAX at nearly 100 locations will help those numbers rise as well.

We'll find out how good the pundits are in a few days.

Cool

Plus has anyone taken note of the truckload more promotion he's done overseas than here at home?

At least it seems that way to me...

A bunch of countries got a day for interviews and premieres.

The US junket started over the weekend and goes right up until open...almost two full weeks of events and interviews and, of course, the Hollywood premiere.

There will actually be a truckload more HERE than anywhere else.

If you're going to start comparing times of promotion, let's keep a fact in mind: JJ et al had the RARE luxury of promoting a film finished MONTHS before its release date, nearly unprecedented at this level of marketing a major summer picture.

So they had the opportunity to do an actual 'world tour' for TREK and promote it beyond hop a jet, show the film, stand in front of cameras, hop another jet to the next one day stop. Likely this will pay off in bigger ticket sales for the film in all the international markets, if only because foreign press and audiences rarely get such "lengthy" attention from US films -- mainly because usual junket tours don't allow the time to stay and chat outside one press conference and a premiere night.

Also, the film opens simultaneously around the world (or close enough), so advance promotional tours was the only way to go, lest JJ and crew visit countries in a short whirlwind tour for only a week. It was either that, or delay the film opening internationally and keep our far flung friends waiting for TREK while it plays in theaters here.

Last, it makes sense to finish up the tour here because that will be home to most of the traveling team. Last stop on the tour, then go home, collapse from the jet lag and watch the box office numbers.
