I've not been a huge fan of Carell's work, so at first I was extremely disappointed to hear that he was playing 86. However, the Get Smart teaser trailer convinced me otherwise. He just might be the perfect guy. Can't wait to see this movie and find out.

I've been watching Get Smart on DVD over the last few weeks, and loving it. (Get Smart puns are a must on Get Smart threads.) Seriously, though, I never missed this show in reruns as a kid back in the 1980s, and it still holds up now. Adams and Feldon were a brilliant team.

I must've been born in the wrong decade, because my three favorite TV series are all from the 1960s: Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, and Get Smart.

Anne Hathaway is mad hot...not sure if Carrell has the same quality Don Adams did, but we'll see if they get it right or if they missed it by THAT much...

He wasn't really invovled until the film was most of the way filmed from what I've read, but I hope it is funny. The trailer looks decent. It will be very hard to pull off what they made in the original.

I envy you that. It would've been so cool to watch Star Trek, Get Smart, etc. when they were brand new. The closest I can get to that feeling is watching the "partially-new" episodes of Star Trek: Remastered.

Not that there weren't any fun new shows when I was a kid. I loved watching Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Incredible Hulk, CHiPs, Knight Rider, and lots of others - but I've found most of these haven't aged as well with time like the 1960s classics have.

I even saw "The Monkees" in first run, and got their first three albums as they were released...

Then other nights, I was watching "Man From UNCLE" and "Get Smart!" and loving it...

At least we can remember the shows you watched as a kid! What did i have i ask you! Under the umbrella tree, Live adventures of Alice and wonderland and Fraggle rock? I guess power rangers were pretty cool, but even ninja turtles were before my time... oh poor ninja turtles, the cgi stole their soul!!

i did LOVE adventures in wonderland though!!!

Probably not enough time has passed. Give it another ten years and someone will look back fondly on your generation's shows.

However, I must point out that Fraggle Rock was also from the 1980s, and Power Rangers was just a poor copy of my generation's Voltron.
