quite (but in these days you never can be really sure ) ... Ive detected him in one of the early stills, standing in the background on the bridge and its clearly not a wet Scott. That, Sarek being there, would give a timeframe to this fight.

found it - I have it as screenshot, but you can also see him at 1:41 in Trailer 2 (The old Spock Version) - go slowly, pic by pic then Sarek (?) stands in the upper right on the bridge - just in the moment, when Spock smashes Kirk into the console.

Its very blurred like some other details, but I assume it is Sarek, because of the slight grey hair in bowl cut fashion and the clothing - same as in scene, when Spock gets them off from Vulcan. (same trailer, watch out at 1:21 pic for pic to see his clothing) IF that actually is Sarek and not the high counsil or such VIPs, but I'm quite sure it's Sarek in both scenes.

I'm wondering, what may have happened, that Spock gets crazy in front of his very strict father ... my oh my (little fanficwriterheart beating fast)

I tend to agree here. I mean Kirk's confidence always came from his smoothness and action. Not that tough guy talk.

Is this the vulcan you saw? If so, then I believe you saw Elder Spock in that clip.

If it's not him, then I'll be looking for Sarek in that trailer again. I couldn't find him in there, but it would be exciting to have him on the bridge during that scene.

That person on the bridge in many of the trailer clips is most likely Scotty in his ice planet gear from what I've seen/heard.

No, it's not Scotty, and it's clearly not the elder Spock (he has nearly white hair and other clothing and since I'm a totally Spock/Nimoy freak I would spot him everywhere from 3 pixels or a blurr - also it wouldn't fit into the story as known yet)

I'm quite sure it's Sarek - take the Trailer (the one extra with old Spock in it) and go to 1:41 then click pic by pic ... compare "person" who is standing in the background on the right in clothing and slight grey hair and cut with Sarek, who escapes through chaotic rocks with Spock, Amanda and others ...

it's reversed, so Sarek (if he is) would originally stand in the left I assume
