I liked Jake for some reason. I liked his relationship with his dad. He was just a kid on a spacestation. Felt much more real to me.

The problem IMO was that unlike other regulars or reappearing characters, he did not have any relationship but with his dad and Nog. Making him a writer came a bit out of thin air, they could at least have gone a bit into something like 'bored kid on a space station reads a lot and then decides to write'.

The writing thing kind of came out of left field, but isn't that something that happens with kids his age? I liked that he kind of had his own thing going on.

I think it was important to point out that a Starfleet career is not what every kid dreams of, with Jakes as well as Wesley. The same with Nog, not every Ferengi has to become a business man.

Mmm, least fav character? Nurse Ogawa Nice lady but I found she didn't really add to the story-line in episodes?
