Default Any 'Supernatural' fans?

It's one of my favourite shows at the moment and I just wondered if anyone else here was a fan, casual viewer or maybe have always meant to give it a look but haven't gotten round to it yet!

I have. I like watching that show except they give witches a bad name as some sort of demonic trouble makers. Other than that it is a good show.

Oh, man... I never saw this thread before because I would have jumped in earlier. Yes, I'm a big fan of the show, and I even have a fanart website dedicated to it although I haven't updated it in a while.

As far as I know, witches I've never been featured on the show. When someone acts as a "demonic trouble maker" it's usually because they ARE possessed by a demon... The only time that witchcraft was featured on the show was during the Season 3 episode "Maleus Maleficarum" and it was practiced not by real witches but more like amateurs and they were casting mostly harmless spell mainly aimed at providing them with material things. The twist was that one of them was actually a powerful demon instead of a witch.

I am not sure what episode it was but Dean referred to witches as "Demonic hag troublemakers." I just kinda blew it of though. But I thought it was not a graceful way of keeping fans that are witches as fans. I know a bunch witches that were really ticked. Actually they haven't been so ticked since Charmed first aired. lol...but any way I really like the show and I will continue to watch it because the stories are well written and intriguing.

Interesting insights there - I don't think Supernatural ever really does feature witches, it's predominantly Demons. But I think it does a really good job of having an overall arc, while having some great standalone episodes along the way.

This fourth season has had some of their best episodes yet I think. It's really shaping up to be something great. Although apparently the plan is to end the show after 5 seasons because that's the way the story was designed to be told, according to Eric Kripke.

I don't think I want it to end in another year, but guess time will tell!

"demonic hag troublemakers"

Yeah, that sounds like something Dean would say. But if some "real" witches (give me a friggin' break...) took offense to that, then they probably don't understand that this is Dean we're talking about here. Whenever he feels frustrated, he starts spitting insults and they're usually quite colorful. But that's the way he is. If all the people he's insulted over the years had taken offense and started lobbying against the show, it would have been off the air for some time now.

On a more serious note, Season 4 absolutely rocks! It's so nice to see that the show has finally got its groove back after the disaster of Season 3.

Dean can be pretty blunt when he gets going - but it's fun to watch!

I think that dratted writers strike mucked up season 3 a lot - the single episodes were quite good, but the mythology side got rushed. I still don't know why the season 3 finale wasn't a two parter like season 2.

But I've seen the first 12 eps of season 4 now, and it is the best the show's been in a while.
