[quote=MissionTrek08;158566]Vue, I think you might have overlooked a subtle character point demonstrated by Nero BEFORE the gagh hit the fan...

That is true. I think I was just taken by how... well for lack of a better word, human Nero was portrayed in the first issue. Again, everyone has an origin story.

If Nero is destroying planets for obsessional, insane, reasons with an agenda--to restore his family--he looks to be a mixture of Annorax in the VOYAGER episode THE YEAR OF HELL, 1 & 2 and Soran in GENERATIONS.
Good comparisons, and I think either one would be fine as long as they are done well. I think most of us are hoping for some purpose that Nero has for his actions beyond cold revenge. That angle has been done so often, but if done well, it will work. Personally, I'm hoping for the second of your 2 senarios.

P.S. Welcome to the forum!

(Kirk is Spock's best friend. What is the best way to hurt a Half human half Vulcan???)
It does look like Bana has "bulked up" for the role. And as Romulans have similar physical strength to Vulcans [even Spock's lean figure is superior to humans] a muscular one would be rather formidable.

Okay I do not remember where I read this, but I did I swear. I read an article that Bana was so good in this that "Hollywood" is talking Oscar.

Shinzon was an idiot.
When you have nothing but revenge on your mind,
all you do is destroy yourself.

How do we know what Nero is like? We have not seen much of his performance?

That's surprising, since so few would have even seen his performance yet. I haven't heard such rumors. Maybe you are remembering his Australian award-winning as Best Actor right when he was first interviewing in the states about TREK??

On the other hand, if he does that great a job, it can only help the film raise the bar in TREKdom.
