Default REBOOTS: Hollywoods new fad... Fantastic Four is gearing up for a Reboot

Yes. Seems if a movie doesn't earn enough money Hollywoods prepared to give it another go... we've seen it happen with the Hulk and now the Fantastic Four is gearing up for a Reboot...

What does that mean for this Star Trek movie... will Paramount mount another reboot with another cast if this movie fails....

Time will tell.

I read about the possible FF reboot on AICN earlier. All I can say is...wait at least 15 years or so! It's way too soon and the Hulk reboot didn't do any better than the first financially.

It may not have done any better financially, but it was a much more entertaining film than the Ang Lee version.

I don't think this movie will fail, but if it does, I would hope there wouldn't be a reboot of a reboot.

The first Hulk movie and the 2nd did about the same, right? And why are they rebooting the FF4 franchise when it has proven it can be profitable?

IMO, I would have thought that was rather soon to reboot the whole franchise as it only started in 2005 but that is, indeed, Hollywood.

I think they were OK for being aimed at a younger audience, but the second film was hi-jacked by it's use as an attempted launchpad for the Silver Surfer. The Fantastic Four are a simpler set of superhero's, and just less interesting as a result. I don't know if they would fit a darkened storyline.
