Well, it was just the latest trailer (without "I hope you know what you are doing"). The interesting part is, the announcer said, and I quote:

"And now, a special sneak preview of Star Trek: The Future".

What the????

I heard a delayed "begins" after that.
So I'm guessing it sounded odd: "a special sneak preview of Star Trek, The Future. Begins."

I just re watched it. He says:

"Star Trek: The Future. Begins In Theaters May 8th".

It did look great in HD.

hmm.
If the voice is computer generated they could have left in a period, creating the pause. It just seems like a stupid mistake to make.
I think it was supposed to read "Star Trek. The Future Begins May 8'th."

Market goes to the audience to pull them in -- it doesn't stand in the middle of a field and expect the audience to rush to them. The reasons why this TREK peek is being put in tonight's Heroes seem numerous and obvious to me.
Same reasoning of why they did the other trailer with Fringe....hoping to cash in on the connection of Abrams, and the audience that the show attracts.

The comic is licensed from both Paramount Pictures (which is owned by Viacom) and CBS Studios Inc. Star Trek: Countdown was only possible because of an arrangement IDW had with both companies. Pocket Books has the same kind of arrangement for their upcoming novelization of the movie.

A year or two ago, however, Pocket Books removed the Paramount logo from their current line of Star Trek books as they are owned by CBS. This was a result of the recent falling out between Viacom and CBS. The Paramount logo will be returned only for the movie novelization.

That's kind of an obvious thing (which was why I didn't mention it), but prior to the split between Viacom and CBS, it still likely wouldn't have happened since the two were then under the same umbrella. It's why you don't see networks holding special sneak peaks for productions from other rival networks...but there's no love lost between Viacom and CBS.
Thanks for the info Commodore!

I've been watching it a few times now....and seeing it in HD is awesome. Much more detail!

Although I would have caught it anyway (being a Heroes fan and always recording it) thatnks again for the heads-up Jim!

Besides, Heroes is a big Trek crossover. I expect to see Shatner next season.
